The village shop in Ancrum, the Ancrum Pantry, now has keys available for the mausoleum crypt, allowing visitors to see the angels and the high star-studded roof behind the great oak doors.

The mausoleum site is open to everyone on foot, bike or horse every day of the year, though the crypt doors are kept locked. 

The addition of Ancrum Pantry as a key holder extends the hours available for visitors to see inside the crypt, as the shop is open seven days a week, from early morning until mid afternoon. Hours vary, so check their Facebook page www.facebook.com/TheAncrumPantry or ring them on 01835 830259. Ancrum is just a few miles south of the mausoleum and is well signposted on the A68, look out for the B6400 crossroads.

There is a £5 charge for the key, plus a returnable £5 deposit. This income helps us maintain the mausoleum. Keys are also available from the Lothian Estates Office at Bonjedward, Jedburgh during normal office hours, subject to Corona Virus restrictions.
