Monteath Mausoleum Benefactors

Most members are happy to join as Friends on an annual basis.

It’s a great way to contribute towards helping to run the mausoleum, or simply finding out more about the enigmatic

Thomas Monteath Douglas and his amazing mausoleum.

Benefactors are a different kind of member

Being a Benefactor requires a commitment to support the mausoleum financially over the longer term, or make a substantial gift.

As leaseholder of this unique building, we have recurring expenses related to upkeep of the building, access road and landscape, such as Public Liability Insurance and building inspection fees, which are invariable costs we cannot guarentee to cover from ordinary membership subscriptions and donations.

Most Benefactors join for life, or give a commitment to support the mausoleum for at least ten years.

The commitment can be for as little as £25 a year, although most Benefactors typically support us by giving £100 or so each year.

Occasionally a Benefactor will prefer to make a single one-off gift to the mausoleum, and will be given Benefactor status for life.

Benefactors may have their names entered on a memorial plaque dedicated to them at the mausoleum, or they may remain anonymous.

In addition to the usual Friends benefits, private tours of the mausoleum for Benefactors and their family or friends can be made by arrangement, with a knowledgable guide to show visitors around and answer questions.

How do I become a Benefactor?

We have an Information Pack for Benefactors which can be downloaded here or send us an email and we will send it to you.
